ELEV8 STATEMENT OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY (Grades 8-12)

Academic integrity is agreeing with and adhering to ethical principles and honesty in educational pursuits, that includes originality, attribution, and respect for intellectual property. Embracing academic integrity is fundamental in online learning environments as it ensures fairness, honesty, and credibility in academic pursuits.

With the digital landscape offering increased accessibility and flexibility, students must uphold principles of integrity by refraining from plagiarism, cheating, or any form of academic dishonesty. Adhering to ethical standards not only fosters a culture of trust and respect but also ensures the integrity of one's own academic achievements. In the virtual realm, where assessments may be administered remotely and collaboratively through various online platforms, it becomes imperative for students to uphold the same standards of honesty and originality as they would in traditional classroom settings. So, embracing academic integrity in online learning is not merely a requirement but a fundamental aspect of responsible learning conduct that contributes to the integrity and value of the entire educational experience.

Elev8 is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and as such, supports all student learning through that perspective. In cases where student academic integrity is called into question, staff will treat both the situation and the individual with curiosity, non-judgment, and respect.

ELEV8 STATEMENT OF ACADEMIC INTEGRITY (Grades K-7)

Academic integrity means being fair, honest, and respectful in all your schoolwork. It is important to always do your own work, give credit to others when you use their ideas, and not copy from anyone else. This helps to make sure everyone's efforts are valued and respected.

Especially when learning from home, it is crucial to practice these principles. Even though it might be easier to find information or share answers with friends, it's not the right thing to do. Just like in a regular classroom, you should always be honest and original in your work, whether it is a project, a quiz, or an assignment.

At Elev8, we believe strongly in these values. If there is ever a situation where someone is not following these expectations, we will handle it with fairness and understanding, and aim to help everyone learn and grow from the experience.
