Our Adult Education Programs: Explore Your Options

All adult programs in Kootenay Lake School District #8 are delivered through our Elev8 Online Learning Program.

Students over the age of 18 can enroll with Elev8 Online Learning program to earn required credits towards the BC Adult Dogwood Diploma program and/or to acquire specific course credits towards post-secondary applications.

Adults who have graduated (graduated adults) may take specific tuition-free courses under certain conditions.

Non-Graduated Adult

A non-graduated adult (students over the age of 18) may complete courses to receive credit towards the British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood) or the Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood).

To earn the British Columbia Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood), the student must complete all courses required for graduation. We work with a learning candidate to organize and create a flexible and personalized graduation plan.

To earn the Adult Graduation Diploma (Adult Dogwood), an adult student:

  • Must complete at least three courses after being admitted into the adult program.
  • May carry over two initiated eligible courses prior to beginning the adult program.
  • May take courses from either colleges or school districts, or they can use qualifying courses from both systems and combine the attained credits to satisfy the Adult Graduation Program requirements.

Graduated Adult

Adult students who have graduated may take tuition-free courses. NOTE: A tuition fee may be applied to courses not covered in the list of tuition-free courses. For more details and guidelines, visit the Ministry of Education or CONTACT US today!
